الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو إلقاء الضوء على دور علماء أسعرد و اسهاماتهم في الحركة العلمية و الفكرية في بلاد الشام و مصر خلال العهدين الايوبي و المماليك البحرية (570 – 784 هـ / 1175 – 1382 م ) ، و بيان العلوم التي برز فيه العلماء الاسعرديون، والوقوف على نتاجاتهم و اثارهم العلمية والفكرية وذلك من خلال البحث في بطون كتب التراجم والسير والطبقات فضلاً عن المصادر التاريخية المختلفة، لتحديد حجم ونسبة ومستوى مشاركة الاسعرديين في رفد الحضارة الاسلامية بالعلم و المعرفة في تلك الحقبة من التاريخ الاسلامي .
