یکی از نظریە‌های زبانشناسی کە در اواخر دهەء ١٩٦٠ میلادی دربارەء زبان و قواعد دستوری زبان مطرح شد، نظریەی حالت Case Grammar بود کە توسط چارلز فیلمور Ch. Fillmore ارائە گردید. بر مبنای نظریەی حالت کە طی چندین سال و چندین مقالە بە طرحی کلی نزدیک شد، ساختار جملە در زبان از دو سازەی وابستە و گزارە متشکل می‌شود. حالت در جزء سازەی گزارە تعریف شدەاست و ارتباط تنگاتنگی با فعل دارد، زیرا در این دستور فعل عنصر اصلی و هستەی جملە می‌باشد و حالت بر اساس فعل تعیین می‌شود و همچنین این حالت است کە نحوەی جملە و کیفیت فعل را مشخص می‌کند. فیلمور حالت‌های مختلفی را در زبان مشخص کردە کە بر اساس پژوهش‌های وی، شمار آن‌ها بە بیشتر از دە می‌رسد. این پژوهش برآن است تا کە حالت و انواع آن را بر اساس نظریەی فیلمور در زبان فارسی و کوردی باهم مقایسە نماید و سطح کاربردی این نظریە را در این دو زبان بررسی کند.
